Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat lays foundation stone for Shri Badrinathji Temple at Vasai


Vasai, Feb 1, 2015- Uttarakhandi Mumbaikers dream of having Shri Badrinathji Temple and a community welfare center near the island city of Mumbai is going to be the reality soon!  The foundation sone for the 22700 sqf grand temple project initiated by Uttaranchal Mitra Mandal Vasai, has been laid by Shri Harish Rawat (Hon. Chief Minister, Uttarakhand) today at Shri Badrivishal Temple Complex, Sun City Vasai (w), near Mumbai. The proposed temple is the exact replica of Badrinath shrine and is spread on a piece of land as huge as approximate 23,000 sq ft which would be erected at a cost of around Rs 15 crore and will have a separate building that would house a community centre, a library, education and medical cell and shall be ready in the next 2 years
The other dignities who graced  the foundation-laying ceremony include, Shri Hitendraji Thakur (MLA, VASAI) Shri Narayan Mankar (Mayer, Vasai-Virar), Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal,  (Hon. Member of Parliament /Former CM, Uttarakhand), Shri Raghuvirdas Prabhuji, Shri Swami Vishweshwaranadji, Shri Mahant Madhavacharyaji, Swami Shri Bhawaninandan Yatiji, business man Madhavnand Bhattji and Shri Mohan kalaji, Shri Ganesh Sanwal, Sandesh Jadhav (Standing committee Chairman, Vasai-Virar )Bollywood actress Madhurima Tuli  among others.

On this momentous occasion Shri Harish Rawatji said " The grand temple  dedicated to Lord Badrinathji on the auspicious soil of Maharashtra near Mumbai is a matter of great pride for all of us. I am aware the kind of challenges that you have gone  through while working on such a noble project. I congratulate the entire team of Uttaranchal Mitramandal and other people who have contributed to make this dream come true. The community of Uttarakhand coming together in such large numbers out side our Devbhumi Uttarakhand, shows our united strength, commitment and generosity.  I am very proud and happy to hear so many names of successful Uttarakhandi's who have made a big name for themselves in this dream city. I am proud of our women -Nari Sakti, our girls like Madhurima Tuli and others who have contributed to the glory of Uttarakhand.  I am happy that these people have made great name for themselves and at the same time have not forgotten their traditional and cultural roots.  

The CM in his speech also spoke about reverse migration and urged the people of Uttarakhand to return to their native land and provide a helping hand towards its development. He also suggested that people who had already migrated and have their lands in Uttarakhand should opt for tree plantation and they would be offered monetary benefits like Rs 300 towards every non-commercial tree and Rs 400 towards commercial trees planted annually 

 Shri Hira Singh  Rauthan, President, Uttaranchal Mitra Mandal Vasai “said “It has been the dream of all Uttarakhandi people living in and around Mumbai to have a grand Temple dedicated to Lord Badri Vishalji (Lord Vishnu) and also a community welfare center in the region for the people. In 2003 we bought this 22700 sqf land for this purpose and ever since thousands of people have volunteered to make this dream project a reality. The estimated cost of the entire project including the 16000 sqf community welfare center is about 15 crore. Today, we are very happy that with the help of our team, community, thousands of volunteers and donors, our organisation have been able to collect funds worth Rs 4 crore. 50% funds have already been utilized for the purpose. We are confident that the temple project will be completed in the next 2 years and the community center will be operational in the second  phase in 3-5 years time”


Shri Narayan Mankar (Mayer, Vasai-Virar) said "Badrinath ji himself is coming to live in Vasai and bless us,  is a very big moment for not only people of Uttarakhand but also for the Maharashtra.  I extend my  full support and cooperation  for this noble purpose and we shall do whatever is required from our side to insure that the project can be competed with in the time frame set by Uttaranchal Mitra Mandal.
