Uttaranchal Mahasangh inducts new faces to expand reach, build strong community linkages


Mumbai, April 5, 2013The Uttaranchal Mahasangh, one of the biggest organizations of Uttarakhandi people in Mumbai and its environs, has introduced 12 new faces into its management team to help expand its reach and build strong community linkages amongst Uttarakhandis living in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. 

The new appointees come from all walks of life such as professionals, self-employed, businessmen and home-makers. The Mahasangh has given weightage to youth in the new appointments with a view to attract Uttarakhandi youth in the region to make them acquainted with the Himalayan-state’s unique culture and connect with their roots.

The new appointees are Shri Devesh Ratudi, Shri Ramesh Godhiyal, Smt Saroj Lingwal, Shri Vinod Devrani, Smt Shanti Ghildiyal, Shri Lokendra Ojha, Shri Prakash Saun, Shri Papu Barthwal, Shri Aryan Rana, Shri Sunil Naudiyal, Smt Pushpa Shah, Smt Vijaya Pant Tuli, Smt Kamla Gusai and Shri Shambhu Prasad Chamola.

Smt. Anandi Gairola, President, Uttaranchal Mahasangh said: “The tremendous response received from the Uttarakhandi people and supporters here has encouraged us to focus on areas like community-building and development, women empowerment and creating awareness amongst the young generation about their vibrant culture. We want to encourage the youth to contribute their mite for the progress of Uttarakhand and its people and ultimately, the country. The Mahasangh is now looking for more dedicated people to come forward and use its platform for doing good work for society, lead and unite the Uttrakhand community” 

Uttaranchal Mahasangh, Mumbai (Reg.) is one of the biggest organizations of Uttarakhandi people in Mumbai and nearby areas like Thane, Virar, Panvel, Vasai, Navi Mumbai, Dombivali, Kalyan, Ambernath and other places in the environs. The Mahasangh is successfully run by many senior and responsible people who are doing their best to promote and safeguard Uttarakhand’s unique traditions and culture in a distant land. The Sangh holds several functions throughout the year to help the people of Uttarakhand bond together harmoniously.
