Uttaranchal Mahasangh to felicitate 5 Women on Uttarakhandi Mahila Shakti Parichaya Divas

Mumbai, April 11, 2014: The Uttaranchal Mahasangh, one of the biggest organizations of Uttarakhandi people in Mumbai and its environs, will honor five extraordinary women for their immense contribution as homemakers at a felicitation function on Sunday April 13, 2014 at Shri Badrinathji Temple Complex, 100 Feet Road, Suncity, Vasai (West Mumbai.
Chief Guest Smt Leela Devi, who is whole heartily involved in Uttrakhand Flood Relief and rehabilitation and is a  great inspiration to Uttarakhandi villagers and women (the backbone of Uttarakhand's Agrarian economy) will be given a special honor for her contribution to the society and community.
The Uttaranchal Mahasangh’s President Smt Anandi Gairola said “Women are the backbone of Indian families. Without a woman you cannot have a home, you cannot run your house. Many of these women go through extreme hardships. But despite huge challenges these women play a lead role in raising and shaping the children of today into tomorrow’s responsible citizens. It is, therefore, women who essay an important role in society”

‘Our intention behind felicitating women over the last four years is to recognise their contributions to both the family and the community at large.  Women don’t expect anything in return for their services. Their contribution goes unnoticed and unrecognised. We at the Uttaranchal Mahasangh decided to felicitate these women since they epitomize strength, courage, compassion and caring” Gairola said
Uttaranchal Mahasangh, Mumbai (Reg.) is one of the biggest organizations of Uttarakhandi people in Mumbai and nearby areas like Thane, Virar, Panvel, Vasai, Navi Mumbai, Dombivali, Kalyan, Ambernath and other places in the environs. The Mahasangh is successfully run by many senior and responsible people who are doing their best to promote and safeguard Uttarakhand’s unique traditions and culture in a distant land. The Sangh holds several functions throughout the year to help the people of Uttarakhand bond together harmoniously.
